Brake Master Cylinder Swaps
Brake Master Cylinder Swaps
Brake Master Cylinder Swaps, 1979-2004 Mustang
Q: Why should I swap my Mustang's brake master cylinder for a different one?
A: A different master cylinder is usually required when a major change is made to the brake system, such as:
A Fox Mustang's rear drum brakes are changed to discs
SN95 brakes are installed onto a Fox Mustang
Power brakes are changed to manual brakes
Maximum Motorsports offers installation kits and adapter fittings to help with the most popular brake master cylinder swaps, and conversions from power-assisted to manual brakes.
Note: A master cylinder is not swapped as a stand-alone "upgrade". It is changed for other reasons: To match the requirements of calipers that were swapped as part of a brake system upgrade, to improve pedal feel, or to change pedal effort.
