Adjustable vs. non-adjustable dampers
To Adjust, or not to Adjust...
While adjustable struts and shocks can offer a competitive edge to some racers, that same adjustability can be a drawback to others, because of the high skill level required to correctly tune adjustable dampers. To properly adjust shock damping requires the sensitivity and skills of a seasoned test driver, which are far different skills than those required of a race driver. The non-adjustability of the MM and Bilstein dampers is precisely what can make them preferable to adjustable struts and shocks; you are able to concentrate on your driving, rather than on how to tune your struts and shocks.
