Why do I need adjustable endlinks?
The OEM stock rear endlinks are fixed in length. While part of a good, simple design, this lack of adjustability can be a detriment to tuning a Mustang for higher levels of performance. A stack-up of production tolerances can often lead to preloading of the rear swaybar. The preloaded swaybar in turn affects the car's corner weights. Uneven diagonal corner weights will adversely affect handling by aiding cornering in one direction while hindering cornering in the opposite direction. For example, your Mustang will understeer more when turning in one direction than it does when turning the other direction.

The Powergrid endlinks let you easily adjust the length of the swaybar endlinks. Properly setting the length will improve handling by eliminating any swaybar preload.

How do I adjust the endlinks to eliminate preload?

  • Remove the stock endlinks.
  • Powergrid endlinks must be adjusted with your Mustang at ride height, and the suspension settled. It's best to drive at least the rear of your Mustang onto low ramps or blocks. The front can be jacked up and the tires then supported on stands to match normal ride stance. The goal is to have the same weight on each rear tire as when on the ground.
  • Set one endlink length to match the stock endlink length.
  • Install on one side.
  • Adjust the other endlink length so it installs with the studs going through the holes easily, without forcing. Any twisting of the swaybar to aid installation is causing a preload.
  • Tighten all hardware.

Each THK Ball Link is composed of a high-precision ball bearing, a die-cast holder, and a shank connected to the ball by a special welding method. Through a unique production process, the mirror surface of the ball bearing is copied onto the inner mounting surface for perfect contact between them, achieving outstanding wear resistance, exceedingly smooth motion, and high strength.
