MM's Severe Duty Oil Filter Relocation Kit moves the oil filter from the stock location on the engine block to behind the front bumper. We designed it to use the large filters that are standard on Ford pushrod small-block engines.
Why move the oil filter?
Ford modular engines with factory oil coolers, such as the Cobra Terminator 4-valve, locate the stock oil filter in a position where it interferes with the MM K-member. Rather than compromising the entire front suspension structure just to accommodate the stock filter location, we designed the OC-7 kit to relocate the oil filter. Problem solved.
This kit is required when installing a Maximum Motorsports K-member on a 2003-2004 Mustang Cobra equipped with the supercharged Terminator engine having the original stock oil cooler.
And another big bonus: Less mess!
This kit eliminates the hard-to-reach stock filter that always drips on your steering rack and K-member during oil changes. You can now easily access the new filter location from underneath the car, since it's in front of the fender liner and behind the front bumper. We've cleverly oriented the filter vertically to eliminate oil drain-back and the resulting annoying drippiness during filter changes.
Only the Severe Duty kit will do for the Terminator
MM's top-quality Severe Duty kit includes a billet aluminum engine adapter, billet aluminum remote filter mount, aluminum swivel-seal -10 AN hose ends, PTFE-lined stainless-steel braided hose, commonly available large-capacity WIX oil filter, all necessary mounting hardware, and detailed instructions with illustrations.
A Standard Duty kit is not available for the 2003-2004 Cobra Terminator engine because the front engine dress requires plumbing fittings that are not available for the braided textile hose used in the MM Standard Duty relocation kits.
